How Do I Title This Article?

As I read it at the latest News, a Sumatran toddler consumes two packs of cigarettes a day. Yeah! Holy Cow!! what on earth did this infant’s parents do to their own child?

His mother has been quoted as having said this:

“He’s totally addicted,” his weeping mom told reporters. “If he doesn’t get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. He tells me he feels dizzy and sick.”
While his father is reportedly not bothered by his chain-smoking two year old son.

How terribly sad this is. And then again, this is Indonesia where one has to be prepared NOT to be shocked by anything that goes on in that Archipelago.

My Cup Runneth Over | Lainy’s Musings

It is now well over eight back breaking and butt hardened hours at my Computer. LOL! And my cup still runs over trying to find the least cumbersome way to produce a total makeover blog theme for Lainy’s Musings.

Lainy’s Musings has 140+ categories that will need to be re-organized and reduced to about 10 to 12 maximum to suit a Magazine theme operation.

If you take a peek at Lainy’s Musings, you can more or less understand that the challenge is not only with the 140+ Post Categories but also the number of her Blog’s embellishments that may have to be judiciously reduced to fit the new theme profile.

I poured through the www for solutions and although there were two plugins that would enable make category name changes, these were no longer compatible with WP version 2.9.2.

Fortunately, I found a plugin, “Batch Categories” that is compatible. I could add a new Category name by selecting various Posts and make that addition on-the-fly. There is one disadvantage in that the previous Category name will continue to remain.

In a way, it’s best that the previous Category name remains so that it will not backfire with the SEO and SERPS with an Error 403 page.

Lainy already is excited about the impending change to a Magazine theme. She has seen and made her choice of the new theme change. This is a preview of her blog’s new theme.

I move with caution for this massive makeover. Her SQL datafile has been downloaded just in case. All her scripts and sidebar codes have been saved. I have tested the new Theme on an unused Domain at my external webhost. So far so good.

It must be done right the first time.

Elegant Themes For WordPress Is Value For Money

This is what I would call a rare find. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, the creator, Nick Roach of Elegant Themes has produced WordPress Themes for all seasons.

Now, now, where can one find 38 different WordPress Themes for a paltry sum of 19 USD (annual subscription fee that can be revoked by the registered member) with a guaranteed UNLIMITED ACCESS?

At this moment those 38 Themes compute to having paid a mere 0.50 USD (and counting) a piece for professional WordPress Themes plus with full technical support from Elegant Themes (while one is still an active member with Elegant Themes).

Another PLUS! For as long as one remains a member, new releases from Elegant Themes can be downloaded without any surcharge.

Elegant Themes Gallery

One ought to review the Gallery to believe just how up-to-date are the Themes.

After-sales Service

Above all, what is most commendable is the response a member receives from Nick Roach of Elegant Themes with regard to any Theme issues.

I know because Nick responded to me under 12 hours which is understandable since I live at the opposite end of the World from where Nick is.

The First Bloggers Club (FBC), a non-profit organization, began on June 1, 2010. Its membership count stands at 22 as of this writing. The idea first sprang from Polly Kloggers of Random Ramblings about a year ago. Together with Lainy of Lainy’s Musings and your’s truly, FBC operates to elicit from Bloggers who take blogging seriously.

FBC does not follow the “traditional” hub of social network sites where mostly it’s the numbers that matter and where a Blogger is ultimately lost in the throng.

FBC does not follow the trends practiced at such social network. FBC is different and is more personalized. It does not wish members to end up being a mere digit in the Club.

Here is a venue that provides the opportunity for members to share, to explore and to expand their interest. It is the members contribution that illumines and fulfills the mission of FBC.

Quality and not density is the mission statement of the founding members of First Bloggers Club. It is the members that are important and it is a Club that was created for Bloggers.

One of the Greatest Songwriter/Singer

This is one song (though there are others) that has a poignancy for me. It is “IamIsaid” written and sung by Neil Diamond. This song was a Chart Buster and a No. 1 Hit in the early 1980’s.

Neil Diamond
These verses have great depth.

“I am”… I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair

“I am”… I cried “I am”… said I
And I am lost and I can’t
Even say why
Leavin’ me lonely still

Did you ever read about a frog
Who dreamed of bein’ a king
And then became one
Well except for the names
And a few other changes
If you talk about me
The story’s the same one

But I got an emptiness deep inside
And I’ve tried
But it won’t let me go
And I’m not a man who likes to swear
But I never cared
For the sound of being alone

Countless people would be able relate to those aching words each in their own fashion and circumstance.

For those who have read about Neil Diamond’s struggling years as a songwriter/singer, it can be appreciated why most of his songs are pensive and echoes the yearnings of the human soul.

Hailed as an iconic songwriter and classed as an “Urban Rock” singer, Neil has been prolific and he poured out hits such as:

Red, Red Wine | Forever In Blue Jeans | Sweet Caroline | Cracklin` Rosie | A Horse With No Name |
You Don`t Bring Me Flowers | Girl, You`ll Be A Woman Soon | I`m A Believer | Song Sung Blue |
Cherry Cherry | Play Me | You Got To Me | Morningside | Shilo | September Morn | Love On The Rocks
| Be | Brother Love`s Travelling Salvation Show | He Aint Heavy He’s My Brother | Flight of the Gull | Soolaimon | Stones | and many more.

Till this very day his live concerts are FULLY SOLD OUT! Perhaps his live performance, “Hot August Night” at the Greek Theatre in L.A. will be fondly remembered as one of his greatest.
