For his 60th birthday this year, I have asked Windy what gift he wanted to receive from me. He dissuaded me from sending anything and vehemently told me to just save up the money. I have actually contemplated in purchasing a cool rfid blocking wallet for him because I did not see him with any when we were at Genting Highlands or at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Oh well! Time flies real quick. Before we know it, he will be celebrating another birthday yet again. Mercy! Am I getting so old?
Though I cannot consider myself electronic tech savvy, I do know that the genius man behind Apple Inc. was Steve Jobs. The Apple technology made mobile computing revolution a craze such as iphones and ipods.
The genius of this exceptional man cannot only be attributed to the innovative products that Apple produced. He was also the man who revived Apple which was at the brink of Chapter 11 during the early 1990′s.
Being a genius himself, he wasn’t a textbook CEO. In fact, it may not be known to everyone, but he was a real pain in the butt during his time at Apple. He got fired and was recalled to revive the then ailing company that he had co-founded.
“I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” - Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement Address
The Board knew all along that it was only Jobs who can do magic to Apple. Jobs understood what the lay man on the road wanted and wanted to hear. It’s because of his acumen that he was able to gather a larger market share for Apple products. That’s how they beat the competition in the field as there were many other products in the market then. Only Steve Jobs did the magic in making the product appealing to the public.
That’s where Steve Jobs is different from the rest. He was a man who’s willing to take risks and willing to be different.
With that charismatic appeal, he was able to lead Apple into new frontiers and the gap that he now leaves will be a testimony of his rare ability.
He finally took his resignation when he had fallen ill with pancreatic cancer.
Jobs will always be remembered for his innovation. With his passing, he left a lasting legacy that every man will remember.
May God rest his soul!
It was on Thursday, October 13, when my nephew, Baby Xyle, finally was born, My SIL was on labor for two days. Thank God she had a normal delivery!
When I first saw Xyle, I have mixed emotions. I was excited at the same time I was trembling because I don’t know how to hold him properly, hahaha! I always love to see him and hug hum. Such an innocent angelic face!
I bought him some baby stuff and I am also contemplating of buying wireless baby monitor to make sure he is safe especially when his Mom is not by his side.
Whew! It just feels great to be an Aunt! I love it! I love you, Xyle 
We have been pretty busy at work planning and budgeting for our Mindanao Goodwill Games at Dapitan City, Zamboanga Del Norte come first week of December. It will be the longest travel I will ever have by land. We shall be embarking on this journey with the hope of fostering camaraderie and rapport between and among employees of the agency I work for in the entire Mindanao.
With the long trip, we have to be ready all the time. Things happen and we can’t be unprepared for this event. Even the possibility of needing roadside assistance we have taken into consideration given that it will take us 10 hours on the road before we reach our destination.
I can only hope everything will turn out smoothly with our impending trip.
