We often wonder how much truth there is when we read or hear about the Earth under siege by climate change. We see visual reports of the extent of damage suffered by mankind in the event of massive floods, mudslides and at the other extreme, droughts and fires.
Recently at some of the low lying villages nearby, the residents experienced the terrifying onslaught of rising flood waters. The river waters reached dangerous height levels and were about to overflow the river banks.
Property damage was incalculable and the livelihood of the farmers took a piteous beating as their crops were wiped out by the flood waters.
My uncle advised us to purchase a commercial pumps in the event should anything of that calamity befall upon us. I don’t really know how much good that would do but he said at the least it would buy us precious time to evacuate our precious belongings before they are destroyed by flood waters.
