The Answer My Friend…

Is Blowin’ In The Wind, the answer is blowin’ in the wind.

How many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?

Those lines taken from theĀ  iconic lyrics of Bob Dylan, reverberate in my mind.

We take pride that in this modern Era, mankind has surpassed through a history filled with events that makes Satan diminutive by comparison. And yet, right now, there are individuals, families, communes and nations that are subjected to indescribable indoctrinations that suppress freedom.

How come?

One would think that slavery in all its forms has been abolished. Nothing is more despicable than slavery of the human mind because it seizes the soul of man. And that my dear reader is exactly how man has deviously used economic repression, racial supremacy and even pseudo religion indoctrination as a beginning in this Brave New World of ours.

You are, of course, right! It often saddens me to see people so repressed that they are nothing more than a doormat for others to abuse and wipe their feet on. What you speak of is not just a form of slavery but a total bondage. The whips of such a bondage are simply words … for words can be dangerous weapons. They can make a person appear insignificant not only to themselves but to others around them. It has often been said that there is nothing more evil than the lashing of the tongue for a tongue can persuade; can conjour up torment; can turn whole communities from wonderful beings into something that is totally despicable.

Look at war situations – good ordinary citizens moulded into evil executioners and all with a few persuasive words. Very often the excuse given is ‘it was done with the best intention.’ How dangerous for any man to think that he can become a god and perform any will that he fancies. How careful we all must be that we are never hoodwinked into believing that something is good and right just because others tell us it is so.

Our minds and our thought are what make us separated from the animals – we have free will – if we ever give that away then we might as well be living like the monkeys in the trees for how could we ever really call ourselves human beings, people, man?

We are surely better than that. This world is a marvellous place we are so very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in it so we must never give that away, we must enjoy the life we have been given – only then can we be truly free.

    Hi Polly,

I could not have elaborated it as well as you do. And you’re right about what separates man from beast.
The problem is that there are those who are unable to acknowledge that there is also man who is a surreptitious beast.

    Cheers!
