I was able to purchase my new eyeglasses last December. It was a bit expensive but I had no choice. The doctor did not require me for reading glasses though.
I am myopic and the eye grade is 1.000. I opted for contact lenses when I was in college because I felt uncomfy with my thick glasses. I have been wearing my contact lenses since 1998. I do not frequently wear my eyeglasses as it was heavy. But since the contact lenses had some effects on me for wearing them for longer period, I had no other recourse but to wear my glasses more frequently these days. I am now getting used to it so I find no problem in it.
