Christmas Won’t Be The Same Without Cheeky

I still miss Cheeky. I often read the posts I’ve written about her at Lainy’s Musings. Believe it or not, I still keep stalking Cheeky’s Chatter hoping that one day, another posts shall be published by Cheeky.

Crazy right?

Before Cheeky died, I was thinking that Windy will buy christmas stockings for dogs. Windy gave her everything and so it’s not impossible for Cheeky to have these accessories for Christmas. But with her passing, it will be a lonelier Christmas at Windy’s sweet abode :-(

I Miss You… Goodbye!

The day I celebrated my birthday, I felt happy because I celebrated that special occasion with the people close to my heart. However, the atmosphere was clouded when Windy informed me that he is mourning the death of Cheeky at 4:30am, the same day I celebrated my birthday.

I felt like the entire world was on me when I learned the news. I silently wept. The adorable pup that I learned to love for a short period of time I can’t see no more. I was so looking forward in seeing her in the flesh once I go visit Malaysia again. But that won’t be possible now.

You see, it was I who gave her name. When Windy asked me what could be a good name for a Beagle pup, I didn’t hesitate to tell him that Chicklette would be a fine name. And so we named her that, and she was later on known to be Cheeky for short.

R.I.P Cheeky Van Dog

Windy took care of her and gave her everything that she needed. He even bought a domain for her and Cheeky shared every little bit of progress she’s been doing day in and day out at Cheeky’s Chatter. That’s the first time in blogland that a blogger pup came into being.

I had so much difficulty writing this post. You may believe it or not, I still weep everytime I think of Cheeky. As I am writing this, I can’t help but get misty eyed again. It’s so hard to let go of someone that you have learned to love so deeply. I know this must be so hard for Windy. I share what he feels.

I am going to miss you, Cheeky. May you rest in peace!

Landscaped Aquarium

Windy read some about how to rear Discus fish and because of the nature of Discus and their natural habitat in the Amazon, South America, this fish needs some “hiding” places. Their graceful and shy temperament is beholden to having places where they are not too exposed. Besides it also serves as their mating grounds and they need it to lay and hatch their eggs.

So, off Windy went to the fish shop and bought a big piece of driftwood. Driftwood also has a good result as it treats the water to be softer. He noticed that his Discus fish were lacking Oxygen and to solve that he bought an air pump to aerate the water. Doing this would oxygenate the water in the aquarium.

Then horrors! The driftwood wouldn’t sink to the bottom of the aquarium. Windy had to hold it down with two bricks for several hours till the driftwood was densely permeated with water. The Discus fish clearly did not like the intrusion and kept darting back and forth inside the aquarium thereby making Windy’s work more difficult.

Here is a photo of the landscaped aquarium, still with half a brick holding the driftwood down till Windy can remove the brick later.

Hoping for the Best

At work, I used to do some reports that are mostly done only in MS applications. I wish we could have report engine to keep everything in perfect order.

It would make my life easier and convenient apart from the fact that it will make my reports sophisticated. I wonder when are we going to fully automate office administration to keep up with other countries who has gone full blast in technology advancement.

Oh well! I can only hope for the best :-)

My Fave Mattress

When I moved out from my Mom’s house and lived solo three months ago, I had to do a few purchases for my new home to be able to live comfortably. One of them was a custom mattress which makes me want to just roll in bed the entire day.

The mattress

Now that I am presently in the look out for a new pad, I plan of bringing along this mattress with me. However, one pad I’ve found is fully furnished. I am aiming of getting that one when a unit gets vacant.
